GIG1005 Social Engagement : Execution
Assalamualaikum and hello everyone!
Today, I will continue my journal regarding my Social Engagement project. In my previous post, I told about the preparation process which is, considered as step 1, today I will tell my step 2 and obviously it was regarding the execution process.
As I mentioned before, we could not proceed with the IT Workshop project in SK Bangsar because of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19. Because of that, I and my other course mates were told to make a poster regarding preventive measures to combat COVID-19. I was really excited and can't wait to start making the poster since I really love designing, well even though i don't really have the talent anyway, but still, I have a bunch of free time so, I started to do it in a slow pace.
Suddenly, I was informed that the topic for the poster was changed. The new topic was: "How technologies involved in COVID-19 issue?". I am not complaining with the sudden change because the topic was still under the same roof which is regarding COVID-19.
I started to do some researches on the Internet about the given topic and along the process, I has found out many interesting facts. I can said that I gain a LOT of new general knowledge specifically, about newest inventions for COVID-19. I was quite surprised but at the same time, proud, to see how people developed technologies using Artificial Intelligence (AI) such as making drones and medical robotics for the sake of community.
After collecting a plenty of relevant points, I started to design my poster. I used Canva, a website that provides online editing platform for poster designing, business card and other stuffs (as shown in Diagram 1). I preferred Canva over other editing software such as Photoshop, GIMP and AI because, Canva has already provided poster templates for all to use. Even though I didn't use the original template, but, seeing those templates really give me some ideas to design my poster.
It took me a whole night to complete my poster (refers Diagram 2 for the poster). I gave myself credit because I think I am quite satisfied with my work hehehe so yeah that's all for today post. Thanks for reading anyway, see u later!
